Rumors have already surfaced about Google’s first foldable. The question marks are mounting as it has gone quiet again lately.
When someone asks us about the first Pixel Notepad, unlike other devices, we can’t give a straight answer. There have already been many hints and evidence that Google is working on its own foldable. But the new device has reportedly been repeatedly shelved internally. It reminds us of the Pixel Watch.
The Pixel Notepad won’t be the first Google device to be forgotten after some leaks
Four years ago there were rumors about the Google smartwatch. And nothing happened during this time, the device was completely forgotten. The Pixel Watch is finally coming this year, and the Wear OS smartwatch has already been officially announced for the end of the year. Not so with the Pixel Notepad.
After several postponements, the industry recently said that Google may show its Notepad this year. Will be suitable for the October event (Pixel 7 series). But with no new leaks, we remain skeptical. The Pixel tablet, which no one knew about until it was officially revealed, offers hope.
An official graphic from a Google app can show Pixel Notepad:
Foldable: The first generation is particularly difficult
Perhaps some would like to see a foldable from Google. Especially Pixel fans who love this form factor. However, since Google primarily relies on hardware from other companies, development can be a difficult undertaking. Especially if this is the first device of its kind.
I hope they work closely with Samsung on this, like they do on the Pixel Watch. Samsung is already launching the 4th generation of its own foldable this year and therefore has a lot of experience to offer.
Here’s what’s known about the Pixel Notepad so far:
- Foldable with a large display inside
- Screen Diagonal: About 5.8 inches outside, 7 – 8 inches inside
- The price should be below the competition
- Probably with Google Tensor
- The camera is probably a rather old model
- Market launch unknown, postponed several times
